  1. Dear Mr Prime Minister, Sir

I have been thinking about it for a while and thought it is the government’s business not mind. But when I looked back at what happened in the past and it is going to affect our children’s future, I thought it may be better to let you know my personal feelings.

Among many things, we all know medical is going to be very expensive based on what we are paying today. And we all centred on this one issue alone – biggest worry.

Nevertheless my other problem is on the young going to uni to get a degree. I saw a debate betw SMU and some officials, on whether it is necessary to have a degree. What came into mind is the stop at 2 campaign and it was so successful people just don’t want to have baby anymore. Partly because it is not easy to bring up children these days compared to olden days.
In 5 years and 10 years from now, Singapore produced more technician whereas our neighbours will produce more graduates. When some big enterprise set up shops here, most of our people can be supervisors and the foreigners becomes manager because they hold a degree. Just a handful of good people can make it to the top. This is a long term decision and I hope it is not going to be like the stop at 2 thing. We have to rely on foreign grads to head the job in future.

Yes, anything strategic and we don’t have it here, they must come. You have one good foreign general + a few deputies leading the rest of local soldiers. Then there are still mainly Singaporean in the game. We do it with our heart and soul because we are borned in Singapore.

Thank you for your time, sir.

    Ho Kiew Seong
